I am originally from Chile. I started painting at a very early age creating posters and graphics for high-end boutiques, and corporate companies in Santiago (my hometown). I always felt fascination for communication, following my dream I migrated to New York in 1985.
When I paint, I first work on the background. This technique allows the canvas to reveal me the subject; the media communicates the light, which let me create paintings that are diverse. I use acrylics. I glaze in between different layers of paints. Using this technique, I reveal the colors and forms through the different layers. The digital world fascinates me, I love creating motion graphics and compose images.
My passion is paint on canvas. From this knowledge I see making movies as drawing with the camera and painting with the light. Besides creating my art, I have been teaching for over 20 years. As an educator and multimedia artist, I want to contribute to society; transforming lives and foster intellectual development. My objective as an artist is to contribute to a globally connected culture. This objective has allowed me to create documentaries; 2009, I made my debut as Director/Producer/Editor in non-fiction. The main focus in my documentaries is human rights, and spirituality.
